The annual Autumn Salon has become a notable event in the local art world. Thanks to the long-standing support of the Orient Foundation, the Art For All Autumn Salon is able to dedicate its passion in contemporary art, and bring to the audience an ever-expanding vision of artworks. It is particularly worth mentioning that this year’s "Oriental Foundation Art Award" winner is the paper sculpture "martyr" by Ann Hoi, and the honorable mention awards are MJ Lee’s performance and video art work “Great is truth, but still greater, from a practical point of view, is silence about truth.” and Kit Lee’s computer imaging work "The Sea". The three award-winning works all show reflections on contemporary human developments. The paper-made man in "martyr" is like an inanimate robot. At the time of the rapid development of human technology, paper-made memorial sculptures are exquisite but fragile. For whose sacrifice was it made for? The work lies in the 250-year-old Orient Foundation mansion, appears to be vivid and moving.  MJ Lee’s performance art directly points to the current state of the media’s manipulation of truth. As a non-traditional art form, performance art uses the tension of its live performance as a connection with the audience. Its expressiveness cannot be ignored. The body is a direct medium of artistic creation, interacting with the audience to experience a personal journey of art and reflections upon art. On the opening day of the Autumn Salon, a public performance by the Korean artist who currently lives in Macau was specially arranged. As for Kit Lee’s "The Sea", which is created by computer imaging (CGI), which refers to images generated by computer algorithms, the work simulates a sea on which mobile phone screens are floating, reflecting on it what we face most of the day: the electronic light. Ironically, in today's world, the distances and relationships among people are manipulated and maintained through these electronic lights.

The "Orient Foundation Art Award" is especially designed for young artists aged 35 or below. It has been held at the same time with the AFA Autumn Salon since 2011. The selected works are shown at the Orient Foundation's exhibition venue. This annual art feast in the harvest season of autumn; a time to recover from the epidemic, to show the vitality of Macau's art, is just the right time.

AFA Macau and Orient Foundation have always been working on creating platforms for local and oversea artists, providing opportunities for them to interact and learn from each other. By inviting the guests and buyers to visit the exhibition, it offers a chance to the young artists for showing their artworks to the audience, as well as, to encourage their art creations.
